The Lunar New Year, also called Chinese New Year or the Spring Festival, is celebrated by Chinese communities around the world. It follows the lunar calendar, so the date is different every year.
Each year is named after an animal from the Chinese zodiac. This year ends the Year of the Snake and begins the Year of the Horse on February 17.
